ESO

Yesterday I got a code for a beta testing of ESO from a friend and spent 5 hours downloading and updating the game. Whether it was worth it, I still don’t know… Cause after all I was too sleepy to do anything more than creating a character, and had to go to bed. And now, when I finally have time AND opportunity to play (which is a rare combination, really!) the server is down! Dammit!

Our DSL connection only has us downloading at a rate of 75-150kB/s. It’s insane. I’ve been downloading for almost 18 hours and I’m only at 9 percent. The hubby likes our DSL because we can choose our own IP addresses, but I always wonder if the tradeoff of the pathetic phone company bandwidth is worth it.

Oh, my! And here I thought WE have a slow downloading speed… Well, it is, comparing to the one we had in Moscow – there we could download 5Gb in 15 minutes or so, but I can’t even imagine how annoying your’s Internet speed can be =(

Yeah, I’m still only up to 13%. True, we paused the download so we could watch Netflix, but it wasn’t for very long. I have great news on the DSL front, though. I finally talked the hubby into exploring other options, and they’re coming today to switch us over to a different ISP with a much faster connection! Our speed/bandwidth should triple, at the very least.

All this talk of slow internets makes me cry. I am so glad I have cable internet. Now if I could only get into ESO beta…and my wifes permission to play a MMO again…

I am terribly spoiled by the fast connection we had back in Moscow. The one here.. Well, it’s the best at this point we can get here for an unlimited data πŸ˜€ I still miss the ability do get several Gb’s in mere minutes though *sigh* πŸ˜€
My hubby wasn’t happy to see a MMO on my computer again too… But since it was just a beta haven’t complained. Much… πŸ˜€

Hubby played for a while from my beta account but was not impressed… I guess us playing as a team will stay a history of Lineage2 and WoW even if I decide to get ESO after it is released. Oh, well, watch him playing DMC and Mass Effect is fun too πŸ˜€

But the game is extremely beautiful, that’s true.
They did a great job creating new models for elves and Kahjiits – they are WAY better than in Skyrim. And the landscapes of Summerset Isles are simply breathtaking too.

Fortunately, the hubby heard my cries and got me better internet. YAY!!!! Our speeds have increased exponentally. We went from 75-150k/s to several megs per second. I’m so happy!!! It didn’t happen in time for the beta test, but hopefully they’ll have another one that I can get in on before I have to shell out money to try it out.
